Igor’ Orlov is Doctor of Historical Sciences (2000) and Professor at the Higher School of Economics
(Moscow) since 2002. He is a graduate of the Historical Faculty of the A. M. Gorky Kharkiv State University (1990). He is the author of more than 400 scientific papers; participant of the international project “Documents of the Soviet History”; member of the editorial board of the Russian Historic Encyclopedia; Expert of the Centre of the problematic analysis and state-administrative project planning of the RAS social science department; Editorial board member, scholarly journal Contours of the Global Transformations: Politics, Law, Economy (Moscow). His research areas include Soviet political and social history, Soviet political culture, actual theoretical problems of historical knowledge.
